Located just South of Coeburn, VA, the Guest River Gorge is an excellent sport climbing and bouldering area with high-quality sandstone reminiscent of the Obed and New River Gorge. A well-maintained bicycle trail with mile-markers parallels the river, and some folks bike to the crags. Some approaches can be long, depending on the zone, but the walk is flat and easy. Most of the showpiece crags are morning shade and afternoon sun, with some variance. Grades range from 5.8-5.13 with high quality routes at every level.
