Park at the Laurel-Snow State Natural Area outside of Dayton Tennessee. Begin hiking on the main trail from the parking lot. From here you have two options. Take the Shinbone Ridge shortcut by crossing the creek as early as possible and bush-whacking your way up the nose of the ridge until reaching the base of Buzzard Point. The long way around begins by following the main trail until it changes from old railbed to footpath, and taking a left at the major junction. Cross a series of metal bridges before following the trail uphill. At the top of the hill, after a gulley, you will find a sign pointing you toward Buzzard Point. Follow this sign for an incredible view, and the downclimb gulley just before the point breaks into a series of boulders and ledges. If you take this approach, head climber's right on the ledge after descending a short narrow runnel. To reach the Pieta descent, take a right at the Buzzard Point sign and head into the woods on your left after about 100 feet. Follow the drainage until you arrive at the base of a short cliff. Head climbers right to reach the climbing. Make sure you're out of the parking lot by 7:00pm.
