| Uncut Diamond (8b) | Brilliant discovery, days of cleaning required to reveal the gem. A boulder start (7Bish) followed with amazing resistance up the curving shield wall to a final killer vertical crux. I used two kneebars, one down low to clip the 2nd bolt and a marginal one higher at the pocket shakeout. I felt compelled to use a kneepad because everyone coming after will use one. Although, Lucio made the 2nd ascent and disdained the kneepad! Respect. |
