🚶🏻‍♂️⏱ 30'/80 ' - ⏱ S/SE - ⇡ 2300 mt - Crag in yellow/gray limestone, characterized by a lower part that varies from vertical to overhanging and a more leaning upper part, located between the Vallone del Ploto and the base of the Cima di Mezzo (hence the name) at an altitude of about 2300 mt with southern exposure in a fantastic landscape context. The route names are inspired by the Lord of the Rings saga. Climbing is quite physical but still very technical and requires good sensitivity and confidence in the feet. 🇬🇧 ENG 🚗 - From the A 23 motorway, exit at Carnia and take the SS52 for Tolmezzo first and then towards Villa Santina. Continue along the SR355 towards Ovaro / Sappada, up to Forni Avoltri, and then at the center of the town, turn right following the signs for Collina. After passing the villages of Frassenetto, Sigiletto and Collina, continue to the end of the paved road (about 2km) where the Tolazzi refuge stands (1350 meters) and where it is possible to park. 🚶🏻‍♂️⏱ 50 '- From the Tolazzi refuge take the CAI143 path (or alternatively the forest road) towards the Marinelli refuge (about 3km). 🚶🏻‍♂️⏱ 30 '- From the Marinelli Refuge continue uphill on the path behind it, going up the Pic Chiadin and reaching the Monumenz fork (2307 meters). From here continue to the right on the path to Cima di Mezzo and a few minutes you are at the base of the imposing wall.
