Drive east from Reykjavík on road 1 (the ringroad) for about 4 hours (350km). When you get to Kirkjubæjarklaustur you have about an hour left and around 15min when you pass Skaftafell national park. When you see the sign "Hnappavellir II" turn right onto a gravel road, under the power line and turn right at the fence. The you need to cross a small river - NOTE!! cross the river in a curve to the left and then up the ramp!! (not straight across) The climber´s campsite is a few hundred meters after the river crossing, where the green "shithouse" and the (larger) dining cabin are located.
