| Freebird (8a) | Hardest and best route I have done to date. Finally got some good late October cool and dry sending conditions. Great cap to the 2013 season. What an epic adventure of around 2 months of hard work. 2nd Ascent. Many, many tries. First 13b but felt hard for the grade. A beautiful white-streaked, overhung and thin 20 meter line in a gorgeous Vancouver Island forest. Fantastically sustained. Not a single move easier than 12a in the entire climb. Thank you Lindsay for all the belays in the cold! Wahoo!! |

| Masochistic Minstral (7a) | Very simple moves through the first 4 bolts. Big and powerful, really bouldery. Take a a mini TCU for the mid section. 5.7 climbing above the 4th bolt, but chance of decking. One last hard move to get to the anchors. |
