| High Output (7C) | From the proper obvious start, the perfect edge at abdomen height. (Some would consider this High Output low.) Yet that hold is sitting there begging to be the traditional start hold. Despite this people still start one (easy) move in and consider that the traditional start of the boulder. Not only does disrespect the obvious sequence that this boulder is graciously and clearly offering us but it also leads to the standard start being considered the low?! Thereby dismissing the potential of a true low sit start which very much deserves the title of High Output low. Along with that the contrivency of this boulder needs to be mentioned. I would consider myself an avid contrived line enjoyer but there are some lines you can’t cross without painting a clear image of what is and isn’t to be climbed. This line and summer in paradise are indistinguishable as the rules are not clearly stated, for instance: which LH crimp, if any are on? Can you toehook the arete? Is the jump method required? I went up to the sharp crimp but avoided the summer in paradise crimp only a mere few inches away. Does it count?! With that in mind this boulder is 5 stars! I highly reccomend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ |
