Mushroom Pads reports that Iban Larrion has repeated the 8C traverse, Misti in Fontainebleau, and compared it to an 8A+ boulder. Over the years, ascents of Misti have created many headlines in media and the first one to reveal the bluff like in the Emperor's New Clothing was Markus Bock's: he compared it to an 8A boulder. Iban also thinks the Emperor is naked by calling it 8A+. For many years 8a has been saying that traverse grading is illogical as it is impossible to draw a line. Both Misti and Gioia 8C (+) are diagonal boulders but they use different grading scales. It is totally wrong for the media to create headlines for Misti as it is nowhere near as hard as Gioia. Instead it is probably an 8A+ at the most.

Niekedy je to skôr ako tombola, človek jednoducho skúša všetky kroky a pozície, až dokým nepríde tá chvíľa, keď to všetko do seba zapadne. Niekedy môže dokonca urobenie všetkých krokov v ceste byť rovnako cenné ako prelez samotný. Videá sú dobrým spôsobom, ako urýchliť proces prelezu, zvlášť pri boulderingu, v ktorom je použitie sily a zapojenie svalov kľúčové. Prelez presne podľa videa má však blízko k "robotickému opakovaniu", kedy lezec robí kroky presne podľa návodu, i keď sú možno nelogické a ťažšie. Bez videa by musel vyskúšať viacero metód a po niekoľkých návštevách by sa postupne zlepšoval vo všetkých - hľadal by si vlastný spôsob. Oriane Bertone, who has done eleven 8A's previously, has done Fragile Steps 8B in Rocklands. On the five meter long very steep problem, the 11-year-old finishes of with two heel hooks high above her head. To make it even more impressive, Oriane did it in just five hot sessions, the last out of which was the coldest with "just" 25 degrees. Video including also an 8A.

Jedenásťročná Oriane Bertone, ktorá má na konte už jedenásť bouldrov 8A, preliezla Fragile Steps 8B v juhoafrickom Rocklands. Na konci tohto päťmetrového, poriadne previsnutého bouldra Oriane končila s dvoma pätami vysoko nad hlavou. Jej prelez je o to hodnotnejší, že boulder liezla počas piatich horúcich návštev, pričom pri tej poslednej, najchladnejšej náštee bola teplota "mrazivých" 25 stupňov. Hold, juhoafrické leto. In sport climbing, compared to most other sports, there are few written rules and rare use of referees. Instead, the climbing community creates and circulates their own Practice & Ethics. Beginners sometimes struggle to understand what "normal" behaviour is, what is allowed and what not. V porovnaní s inými športami je v športovom lezení len málo spísaných pravidiel a rozhodcovia sa používajú len pri oficiálnych súťažiach na umelých stenách. Namiesto toho si lezecká komunita sama vytvára pravidlá správania sa a etiku. Začiatočníci však často nevedia, ako sa majú "normálne" správať, čo sa smie a čo nie je dovolené. The 8a scorecard promotes doing multiple hard ascents instead of focusing on just one super hard personal grade record. Personal goals of doing about 10 ascents of a specific grade are often the best strategy for long time progress and it makes your grade pyramid more stable in order to reach the next level. Different climbers have different prerequisites like gender, age, weight, height etc. You are usually also more talented for either open hand or closed crimp, power or endurance and so on. It is just normal to adjust to these and one example is that you seldom see any big guys going for steep 40m routes. Instead you see them doing reachy dynamic boulders. There is a saying is that "you should train and challenge your weaknesses" but if you really want to invest time into making a new personal best, do the opposite. First, you have to analyze your personal prerequisites and actually try to define the specific move you are best at. It can be doing a long lock-off combining a high step with a gaston, it can be a traverse on slopers or it can be an extreme knee-drop two finger cross over move. Once you have found your fauvorite move, try to optimize it and then you can travel around the globe looking for the perfect crux move. It will be easy to make a personal best but do not get a surprise if at the same time you will find that your pyramid has become less stable.
