V Tokyu 2020 sa bude súťažiť v kombinovanom formáte, ktorý zahŕňa rýchlosť, obtiažnosť a bouldering. IOC (Medzinárodný olympijský výbor) je potešený z toho, že sa lezenie ukáže vo viacerých disciplínach a spýtali sa IFSC, či by mohlo byť do olympiády zradených ešte viac disciplín. Anonymný hovorca IFSC sa vyjadril, že vidí zahrnutie troch disciplín na olympiáde ako veľké pozitívum a teší ho, že IOC chcú viac. "Už sme im poslali videá z campusu, deep water sóla, tradičného lezenia a súťaže v skokoch a veľmi sa im to páči. Dokonca sa nás opýtali, či by sme do 2024 mohli zaradiť na olympiádu lezecký decathlon."

Ryuichi Murai has made the first repeat of Dai Koyamada's Epitaph 8C in Hourai. During the last 13 months, the 22 year old Japanese has done six 8C boulders and he is #2 in the ranking game. "Finally I managed to do my longstanding project "Epitaph V15"!! I spent 8 days to send it. At first I couldn't do at all. But I was highly motivated because the line was so beautiful. I was really happy, but I also wanted to face this beautiful line a little longer."

Keďže RyanAir prestal lietať na Kos, bude ťažšie sa do lezeckej Mekky, na Kalymnos, dostať. Dobrou správou je, že Sky Express bude mať pravidelné spojenie od pondelka do stredy a v sobotu. V utorok odlieta lietadlo pomerne skoro, takže sa nebude dať dostať do Atén včas, no ďalšie dni by mali byť OK.
