Shauna Coxsey (19) - A star in the making
Shauna Coxsey has had a sensational progress since she took of her harness. In 2011, she did her first 8A+ and in the last WC she was #4. Shauna's blog
What is the secret to your great progress lately?
"There is not secret I have just been enjoying climbing and not training or pushing too hard. I haven't had a training program or done anything outside of climbing. I have just been climbing with friends and trying hard boulder problems and hard moves. I have just been having fun with my climbing as I have not long got over a finger injury so I don't want to push things too much.
Over the last year I have been spending a lot of time resting and recovering from injury and I guess this is what my body needed as the rest has definitely benefitted me!"
What is your ambition?
I plan to do all the Boulder WC's this year. I would like to be standing on the top of world cup podiums and pushing the level of female bouldering on rock. However its not so easy to make it in the UK so I may end up no longer competing internationally and studying at university."
