Boulder WC leader Nathaniel Coleman is going to China

Nathaniel Coleman leads the Boulder WC after having been the runner up in both Toronto and Vail. Now his summer got rescheduled: China, Céüse, the Munich WC and the Arco Youth Championships. His previous best comp result was #5 in the USA nationals. © Eddie Fowke "I gained a bit of confidence in my physical strength by recently sticking 1-5-9 on the campus board. The mental realization was that I am strong enough to give these guys a good competition, but also that there was no expectations from me since I was largely unknown. Even at Vail I kind of had to trick myself into thinking that I was still an unknown. I think my recent success is due to a number of small factors. Hard training, the US team training camp, and A LOT of support from friends, family, and strangers has given me more confidence on the wall, which is really important at comps as big as Vail and Toronto. As of now, because I'm only trying to maintain my peak, I'm doing maybe 2-3 workouts after climbing per week. While I was in my training cycle, I was doing 4-5 workouts per week, sometimes even having days where I would workout but not climb. The workouts include pushups, Superman's, and flies on rings. Also one arm lowers, frenchies, and typewriters. For core I do front levers, toes to bar, and v ups."
