8c+ by Sasha Digiulian (18)
Sasha Digiulian has done her first 8c+, Southern smoke in Red River Gorge and she is #2 in the ranking game. "Yay! 6th try, 1st go of my 3rd day on it. Very nice, aesthetic climb! Psyched to be back on rock after a long break :)" Previously only a handfull female climbers have done 8c+. More pics at her facebook profile.
Her boyfriend Magnus Midtboe has the full report, "...belaying Sasha on Southern smoke today, was definitely the most impressive belay I have ever done." Video of Joe Kinder and Brad Weaver doing the FA and first repeat of the 8c+.

Ondra flashes 3*8C in two weeks
โI stopped focusing on competition bouldering after last yearโs World Cup in Prague, partly because I can already feel it on my body, especially in my shoulders. The modern competition style, with a lot of jumping from one hold to another, is very demanding for the shoulders.
