8a policy on solo ascents

Debate/Jens: 8a is the only major website/magazine who has a policy to not publish solo ascents. Several years ago we often received info from guys who had made impressive high risk ascents and wanted to get a headline. Nowadays, it still happens but less frequently. We think that by promoting and showing that we publish death potential solo ascents...it might in the end kill somebody who were going for the headline. An example of this is the Rock & Ice article from 2008 giving credit to a 17-year-old who had to repeat it in front of a photographer!
