This is (at the moment) the only proper bouldering area in the region of Friuli, the rock type is mainly limestone but the river sectors offer a much wider variety in the geology, for example very slick polished ferrous and quarze rich conglomerate that is rarely seen anywhere else and makes for extremely techy climbing on marginal foot holds and slippery hands. The whole valley is filled with boulders, most of them are not thightly packed in a small area but the lines are good and never more than a few minutes from the road.
