In the Junior World champion 2000, Angela was #24 by the 14-year-olds. Since than, her progress has been both dramatic but also steady. In 2002, she got her first win in the European Youth Cup and in 2003, she won her first World Cup. In 2004 she got the title and she has now five straight WC victories which is in fact a new record by this 19-year-old. If this development will continue she could be challenging the men in a couple of years!

How and When did you start climbing?
When I was 11 years old I decided to go to a sports school, where I was introduced to climbing.

What is it you like the most with climbing?
Firstly, I like the movements and all the different routes. You can climb vertical, overhanging or you can just go bouldering. Secondly, I think climbing is very interesting, because you donยดt need just your physical strengh, you also have to use your head for each route.

When did you start to notice that you were tallented?

I donยดt really noticed that I am tallented, but I started to notice that climbing is the sport for me. You can travel throughout the world and try to climb on different rocks. Each route is a challenge.

Do you have any further goals for the future?
Yeah, I have some idees what I want to do later in life. Either I want to become a physiotherapist or study languages. I havenยดt desided it yet. And I will try to climb as long as possible.

How do you train? Do you have a trainer?
In winter I train inside and in the summer I climb also outside. I pratice four or five times a week. Two times a year I take a rest, where I donยดt climb at all. In addition I prefer to train with other climbers, because I think it is more interesting. I have Trainer and he makes the programme for me. I sometimes have to go to another climbing hall to get to know different routes. Before I try to climb an unknown route, I have to watch it and find out the solution.

Which is your favorite outdoor crag?

I prefer climbing in Orpierre, that is a nice place in French.

Which is your best climbing memory?
I have a lot of super climbing memories. Concerning competitions, the best one that I have is the Rock Master 2003. I will never forget this great competition associated with its wonderful feeling. I am not able to describe this feeling into words. Concerning training, two years ago I was in Italy in Finale. I climbed togethter with two friends. When we were about to go home, I have nearly touched unintentionally a poisonous snake. That was a weird felling.
