Kathryn Fourie, South Africa

This is a classic 7a in Umgeni Valley, South Africa. Climbing on hard orange sandstone set high above a game reserve, one has to move delicately across a face with slopers and small crimpers to reach a solid mid-route rest. The crux is near the top, involving a rather reachy move for short people with smeary feet, and has a led out last bolt - but the fall is very clean. Absolute heart in mouth climbing at the top, even if this grade is easy for you. Exceptionally scenic open-air route!
