Most inspiring pictures of August!

The months pas by like days, autumn is here, conditions gets better and I have never seen this many great pictures uploaded in a month before! The great news is that I will handle the pictures for the yearbook of 2009 and some of those pictures in these articles will be published so keep on uploading! To increase your chances of having your picture published, write a story, or a picture text that makes the picture more interesting to watch! Also check out the old articles this year: January, February, March, April, May, June, July and August!

Mayan Smith-Gobat on "Chirurgien du crépuscule", 8b, Céüse. Check out vision-z for more photos. Mayan is first in the New Zeeland ranking and did her personal best this year, Lárcademicien, 8c in Céüse. Céüse is one of the most impressive crags in the world and there is no place you get in that good shape, walking 2 hours a day and climbing excellent lines in all grades and types! © Jörg Zeidelhack. Jörg is one of the most active up loaders of great pictures here on 8a.nu; see all his excellent pictures here!

Lukas Kaserer from Austria climbing in Oberbach. Second best rated picture this month © FLO

Tanja Emsperger from Germany on ” Les Nouvelles Plantations Du Christ”, 7c+, Gorges du Tarn, France. Tanja is second in the German ranking with 8b as her best! Gorges du tarn might be one of the best and most beautiful climbing areas in the world with excellent climbing in all grades and all types. The best seasons are during late spring to autumn and it´s definitely worth a visit.  During the summer everything is opens and all kinds of peoples visit the valley and hostiles could get crowded, at the other hand more hostiles and more ”gites” are available than during low season!

Peter Kußler on "Suworow", 7B+, Gotthardo, summer 2009. Peter has done three 8A this year and I guess there is more to come! © Rolf Seitz. Rolf is also one of the photographers contributing most on 8a.nu watch all his superb pictures here!

Bryan OKeefe from United States climbing in Pipe Dream Cave, Maple Canyon, UT. The best rated picture this month which is not so hard to understand ;)

Bernd Linke from Austria Working on the Silverback-Project at Stubachtal. Bend has done 4 8A.s or harder this year and the boulder season has just started! © Hannes Kirchner

Xavi Gomez from Spain, climbing Levitraicio, 8a in Calders. There are more than 1000 accents in the database from Calders. New routes are being drilled every day in Spain and I guess in a few years we will have at least 5 new places and 100: s of new routes to be climbed when visiting Spain! © Carles Marin

“Unknown climber on Bourinator 8a, Céüse. Check out vision-z for more photos.” © Jörg Zeidelhack

Paul Nadler from United States on Viper 6C, Squamish, Canada. There are both excellent boudlerareas and rope crags in Canada and the best season is from spring to autumn! © Ben Nadler

“Marek Pobran on a classic 6c in Zillertal, and of course I don't remember the name of it ;)”  Zillertal is such a beautiful place with great granite climbing, both bouldering and rope climbing. Best season is during spring-autumn! © Wojciech Kozakiewicz

Lisa Bähr in "Barbarella"  7A, Magic Wood, Switzerland, summer 2009. Most voted picture this month and absolutely one of my favorite pictures! Magic Wood is getting more popular for every year. Last 10 years we have seen a dramatic change in the woods of Switzerland. So many great, steep and vertical, boulders have been cleaned and climbed. Personally I haven´t been in magic but this place is far up on my “want-to-go-list”! © Rolf Seitz

James Bang bouldering in Qingdao China. We have seen a big development for climbing in China last couple of years but the latest news is that there are some problems with farmers that don’t enjoy all the climbers visiting the crags and boulder areas. We do hope that we can continue climbing in China! © ROCKER

Danny Baker from United States on “Manic Hysteria, Medicine Bow National Forest. Sweet area I have been cleaning and sending for the entire summer. Its gorgeous granite stone boulders littering the valleys. Cool temps all year”
