Links to forum (left side) open in new windows/tabs

Hi, for a few weeks now I've noticed that when clicking on a forum topic in the left column, a new tab/window is opened. I personally find this a little annoying (and it's not considered good practice in web coding - internal links should open in the same tab, and external links should be marked as such) ....
