Hey guys! To what extent is it appropriate/ok to start with one foot pushing away from the ground/pad to overcome super sketchy starts where almost no foot holds can be used? Sometimes i feel it's the only way to make problems work considering the grade. (for stand starts only of course). Or is it a no-go in general? Thanks :) keep on bouldering
In general I would say that it is a "no-go" if not the FA did it with a jumping start. Of course, you can do it in any way you want but if so you should add jump start as well as suggesting a lower grade.
Depends on the the climbing rules of the area. I guess in Bleau it's allowed to jump, in most granit areas of Europe I'd guess it's a No-Go, as I know so far.
Bouldering jump/dynamic start - ethics?
