Hello I have a strange clicking with a dull pain in my elbow when I do a curl movement with my arm. This came on due to over use. I have no other tendonits related issues at this time. has anybody else had this. I am planning on taking a few weeks off. thanks
HEY DOC, got any suggestions on what this might be, have not climbed on it in 3 weeks , got XRAY and MRI but no results yet. Still have the clicking with a little pain but the pain has lessened but when I excerise it it comes back. what do you think it is?

Most likely you have strained /overextended your elbow tendons- the upperarmbone (humerus) has a groove that one of the forearm bones (ulna) resides in - a slight extension of the tendons or a fregment disslokated in the joint might account for your trouble.
If the MRI is clean- rest at lest 2 week, do some strenght training slow repetitions and start climbing again slowly.
Good luck

Hey Doc, Thanks for the info, I got the MRI its clean, Doc says no surgery need but he has no idea what is going on, he says tendonits. Its been 4 weeks no climbing the pain had gone down a little. I still have the clicking with slight pain. I think if I start climbing its gonna start hurting again, I think I might go to a physio and see if they can fugure it out. You ever seen or heard of this before, No point tenederness and the clicking is hard to locate. Hurts some near the inside flexors.
Maybe you got something resembling a "shin splint" that is an overuse induced percipitation of fibrin around the tendons and muscle sheats - I have used Heparin (a anticlotting agent) to disperse this - start out with heat treatments and maybe Ultrasund probing at the physiotherapist
Tell me how it worked out

Hello Bjorn..I finally got a definitive diagnosis on my problem..I went
to the sports doc elbow guru of the San Fransisco Giants baseball
team..he diagnosed easily..its called Lacterus syndrome. its a
entrapment type issue of the flexor pronator muscles..I think alot of
climbers probably have this but are getting missed diagnosed. I have an
operation scheduled for june 1..he said he just did the op on a pro
pitcher and five weeks later was throwing 98 mph fast balls. thought
the info would be helpfull in helping others.
