GRADES
SEASON
DESCRIPTION
Lion’s Head is an advanced cliff.
Approach: Access to base varies from class 5 gullies, rappelling and potentially treacherous down climbs. 45-60min
Route difficulty: Intermediate to difficult sport and trad routes.
Rescue: WARNING! EVACUATION FROM THIS AREA WILL BE CHALLENGING!! Evacuation options severely limited due to cliff top access.
ACCESS
Climbing is "tolerated" as a non-conforming use of the park. Highly sensitive area. Strive for minimal impact and low profile. Approach via Bruce Trail entrance at the McCurdy Parking Lot.
Please do not sling the cedar trees as anchors. The Cedars are a very touchy specimen in Ontario, many of these trees are over 1000 years old and access can be severely hindered if climbers are found damaging trees.
