| Ungoliant (7C) | Named for the dark primordial spider deity of The Lord of the Rings. Start as per Black Widow, match on the diagonal in-cut crimp, and then yard left hand to a pocket. Place your left foot on the crimp rail of Brown Recluse, back-flag, and come right hand into the undercling side-pull. Top out as per Brown Recluse. I was worried about it being contrived when I first envisioned the sequence, but it climbs like a dream. Be warned though! It is very sharp! Lets get some second opinions on this. Definitely feels like a V9 to me, but could just be height dependent. |
