Select shoes like golf clubs  (2)

Training/Jens: Doing slab/vertical moves on 1 mm edges with a soft shoe is like standing in a deep green bunker with an Iron-3. And do not even try to use your stiff shoes doing high steep moves in steep terrain.

The difference compared to golf clubs is that the optimum performance of a stiff shoe is gone after 1 - 5 hours of climbing when the sole is starting to get rounded. Every climber should have three or four pairs in their bag and often you can combine them based on what types of footholds you will use for your left and right foot.
- A new very stiff shoe
- Something in between
- A super soft shoe
- A worn out for warming up etc
