Most inspiring uploaded pictures january -08

8a will each month produce a collection of the best and most inspiring pictures that have been uploaded by 8a members. Pictures that will be shown are decided by voting and by the 8a.nu crew. When we choose pictures we also judge how well the picture "story" is linked to the picture. Please write down all information about the pictures you download; story, grade, crag, country, and climber. This will increase your chances of getting your picture shown at the end of each month! We hope to make this into a photo contest with prices from our sponsors!

Naureen Goheer from South Africa climbing  The Great Beyond, 7b+. This is the only registered ascent on this route in the 8a database but probably more ascents will be registered from South Africa in the future as it has great potential and also many good climbers. The best boulder area in South Africa should be Rocklands which many climbers say might be one of the best boulder area in the world!? This great picture was taken by Micky Wiswedel.

Siruana is a popular and great area about two hours from Barcelona, Spain. This area is worth a visit, especially in autumn and spring. Many other great areas, like Montsant, Margalef, Santa Linya and Terradets, are less than an hour drive away. Maybe the best known route is La Rambla, 9a+, which was first climbed by Ramón Julian Puigblanque. According to the database the best route is La cara que no mient, 8a+. This inspiring picture was taken by Dave Bond.

The most popular and well known boulder area in the world, Fontainebleau, 50 km from Paris. Jörg Franken, Netherlands, climbing La Balance Sans, 8a, which is a beauty in the Bas couvier sector. Fontainebleau is the perfect boulder area for all climbers with boulders in all grades, most of which are really good climbs. Picture by L. Geluk.
Stefania Daniele, Italy, coming down after a climb. We don't know the route and where it is located, but don't you feel like climbing when you see this picture?

Shannon Moore sending Do or Fly (5.11c,traditional), Tuolumne Meadows, USA. This picture was taken by John Vallejo.

Andreas Barth from Germany on The Worm Turns, V10/11 (8A), in Joe's Valley. According to the database it got around 20 ascents and it comes highly recommended! Photographer is Peter Würth.
This picture was the best rated this month and is showing Scott Chanler on Pride Dyno, Yosemite, CA. The picture was taken by Matt Keebler, 'bler', USA.
