Petrohrad a forgotten great boulder destination

Petrohrad is the biggest and most popular boulder area in Czech Republic and it is also the destination for Padani, a boulder meeting since 2003 which 500 participants the last few years and this year 24-26/4. Petrohrad is possibly the second biggest in Europe measured by easier boulders as half of the 6 000 are up to 6B. At the same time there are many 8B's to 8C set up by Adam Ondra, Rosta Stefanek and Petr Resch. Petr can be said to be some kind of godfather and he has himself put up like 5 000 boulders up to 8C and his 9 year old son has done 8A+. (c) boulder.cz - Bouldering in Petrohrad offers all kinds of styles one can imagine, except maybe for long overhangs or roofs. Power demanding boulders on positive holds are mixed with slabs and arêtes. The most frequent type of holds are crimpers or edgea and, in the Žihle part, slopers are very common. The granite here is very abrasive for the fingerskin.
