Smart Autolock carabiner from AustriAlpine

The AustriAlpine 50:50 is a great innovative autolocking carabiner that also prevents cross load. Having used the 50:50 for some days, it is actually getting almost as convenient to put it on and off as with a screw carabiner. It has been tested for more than two years showing no signs of wear according AustriAlpine. As I every year have some incidents with cross load or having forgotten locking the screw carabiner, the 50/50 seems safer. However, it is kind of scary that it can partly be open if you deliberately squeeze it towards your harness even if I could not unlock it. It is a bit bigger compared to the smallest screw carabiner and belaying your friends some hundred meters indoors means that it, at least theoretically, you need to pull more. Austria Alpine also have super small screw carabiners so it is a trade of which to go for.
