Innsbruck was great but can be so much better

The European Bouldering Championship was a great show but it can be much better. It is just to many incidents where the climbers are called down and the number of mistakes by the commentators are in double digits. This mainly has to do with the difficulty to analyze the results and if not these professional guys can understand it, something has to be done. Another critics is that the camera work was often really poor especially when it comes to selecting which climber to show. Further more, it is not perfect that the both bronze medalists did only one out of four problems. The easiest solution would be to have more bonus holds meaning that it will be more exciting to watch. Now, almost all bonuses were done but later you can see that the problems are to cruxy and that in fact, we did not see any close calls for topping out as only the fourth boulder were of increasing difficulty, as it seemed. In theory, all the six male finalists were potential winners before the last boulder but this, the commentators did not know! This just shows how hard it is to understand the scoring but on the other hand, it would have been so easy to make either one person just informing about this or you could make a program calculate it and show it on the screen. The final remark is that out of the last 23 male finals, Jan Hojer is the only one to have, once, one won both the semifinal and later, starting last out in the final, won that also.
