Alex Puccio strikes again and again...

Alex Puccio, #2 in the world Champion and who the last eight months has taken female bouldering to new standards, has done The Buttermilker 8A+ in Bishop. "This one was harder than the Swarm for me. Awesome to top this one out! :) and I climbed some other fun boulders as well!" She is talking about, among others, Center direct 7C+ and Thunderbird 8A. Update The day after she did Stained glass right 8A and flashed Fly Boy sit 7C and three more good climbs. The interesting thing is that the great progress took place after she skipped the last two WCs and instead focused on rock, which also resulted in a silver in the World Championship, ten weeks later. "The past 2 months have been packed with competitions. And even though I LOVE competitions I also LOVE climbing outside! I would say my passion for rock and comps are 50/50. Sometimes I feel like I need a break from competitions and just get outside where I have no pressure and I can take as long as I want on a climb.

Alex Puccio has made the FFA (yes, it's true this time) of Jim Holloway's Trice, 8A+, at Flagstaff. The problem went unrepeated for more than 30 years until Carlo Traversi made the 2nd ascent almost one year ago. This was Alex' 3rd of the grade and we don't think it would surprise anyone if the firs…
