The IFSC announcer, Daniel, was interviewing the chief routesetter during the IMST WC lead event. Daniel asked the routesetter if he takes into account any climbers or their abilities in setting the routes. I thought the setter said that because Ramon is shorter than the other climbers, it wouldn't be fair for him to make long dynamic moves. So they give him an alternate way to handle those moves.
Is that really what the setter said? It sounds like they set routes especially for Ramon, giving him ways to overcome difficulties without doing so for anyone else. If so, I 1000% disagree with this.
Did the chief IMST routesetter say what I thought he said??
