Ghisolfi and Markovic WC winners in China

The sixth stage of the Lead WC in 2014, gave us the most sensational male WC results ever when Adam Ondra was #19 and Jakob Schubert #17, out of a total of 21 participants. The winner was Stefano Ghisolfi which was a nice surprice as he normally is around position 6 to 10. In a 8a interview two months ago, he said, "I always hope to be in final, I feel that a podium is possible too." In May, Stefano was one of the winners in Melloblocco and in June he was #6 in a bouldering WC the day after he was #7 in the Lead event. He had not done any specific bouldering training as his focus is Lead. One way of training is actually to do routes up to 8b footless. Last month, he took part in the American Ninja Warrior setting a new record on the track, The video is just great where he is actually just about to fail after few seconds. In the 8a lead ranking game the Italian is #4 including a 9a+ in August. Among the female, Mina Markovic took her second win in a row and here the astonishing result was that Jain Kim was #10 and Charlotte Durif #14 out of 16. During the last 40 Lead World Cups, Jan Kim has been Top-2 in 30 events and during the last 12 events for Jakob, his worst result has been #4. In 2011, the Austrian won the first seven WC.
