TNF focusing on contributions to Kalymnos

The North Face Kalymnos Festival has started and like last years, a new sector with 15 routes has been opend, which will be challenged by six invited legends. James Pearson and Caroline Ciavaldini have done most of the 30 days of work on Telendos bolting, cleaning and creating paths. "It is more like an old school crag, less steep, more technical and with more crimps which will be a great challenge for the old school guys. Even the suggested grades are non-Kalymnos", says James with a smile and finishes. "Also unique for Kalymnos is that you can always find some routes in the shade during the whole day." No price money for the athletes this yer, instead the 5 000 Euro will be donated to the local rescue team and the local hospital. Further more, for every climber taking part in the Marathon competition, around 600, TNF will donate one bolt and after the competition, the reboltning will be done.
