The Escapist 8B (+) by Fred Nicole (44)

Fred Nicole reports on his instagram that he has repeated The Escapist in Rocklands which Nalle Hukkataival put up as an 8B+ but which Daniel Woods and James Webb (flash) gave 8B after quick ascents. During the late 90-ies and the beginning of the 00-ies, Fred was the leading boulderer in the world opening several classics in Rocklands, Hueco Tanks and Switzerland. The last few weeks in South Africa have been amazing! Crazy landscapes, beautiful rocks, nice people, good food and excellent wine. Still so much to see and do! A few days ago I managed to climb "The Escapist" a V14 Nalle Hukkataival put up in 2012. It is a very nice line discovered in 2003 by Bernd Zangerl with sharp, small crimps (at least for my fat fingers). I will try to post some images from new lines as soon as I have a better wifi!
