climbing on Malta?

There are some very cool Deep Water Soloing spots. I contacted a maltese guy. Found the address on a web site. can not remember the name or the address but he was really helpful and told us a few really cool sportclimbing spots as well. Good luck. Robin

I'd try the south/south-western part (around the Dingli cliffs). Give Hubert on Seashell DiveCove (http://www.seashell-divecove.com) a call/mail. He has two diveinstructors working there, who also climb a lot - I bet they can give you a tip or two. Good luck :)

Hi Niklas,my name is Jeff,a Maltese local...On the island there is a crazy unbalanced ratio of only a handful of dedicated climbers,and so much unrepeated good lines especially in the 7b-8a range... The DWS is your best option in July,as access of half of the locations is easy,and the routes nearly all with a safe drop into the deep blue...Silent Warrior 7a+ in Ghar Hasan,and March of the Jellyfish 5.13 on Comino island are justtwo of the lot!... As for easier stuff sea level traverses are so plenty,and Wied Babu could be be the best sport crag with dozens of lines from 5 to 7a,mostly 6b's... A 10min walk down the valley leads to a cove into the sea with just dws routes at 12mtr of height.... Anyway i will be all out with trying DWS projects this summer,and if you want to join or be guided around feel free to contact me.. Will pass you my tel no if you want... Regards Jeff
